As old as the hills, from childhood to adulthood, like most people, I have several favorite fairy tales: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Hansel and Gretel. According to my view, these stories enriched me and that`s why I adore them. In addition, it is a pleasure for me to gift books to my child. The last one that I gave was Bulgarian folk tales by New Media Group and Svetlio Kantardjiev. As I understand, the edition is a part of a series that includes dozens of books of fairy tales for kids – Magical Treasure of The World.
In my opinion, stories are very important in children`s education. More and more psychologists agree with that statement. Fairy tales give a basis and teach core values; they develop imagination. Unfortunately, nowadays, children are consumers. In other words, they prefer to see the characters in a movie, TV series, video or computer games.
By the way, lawmakers in Bulgaria adopted a decision that pre-school education becomes compulsory for all 4-year-old children. That is ridiculous! The proposal predicts ‘hard school plan’ which is absolutely ludicrous.
In conclusion, parents must decide by their own if children should or not go to pre-school.
